Samsung Infuse 4G Android smartphone

Finally the wait is over, AT&T will finally get its first 4G (LTE) Android phones on November 6. At first, Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket and HTC Vivid are two devices that will hit the shelves.

The Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket will feature a 4.5” (480×800) display with Super-AMOLE Plus technology, 1.5GHz dual core CPU, 16GB internal storage, 8Mp rear camera (1080p capable) and a 2Mp front camera.

The HTC Vivid, on the other hand, will offer a 4.5” (540×980) qHD display, 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU, 16GB of internal storage and also a 8Mp rear camera (1080p capable).

The Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket will set you back $250 and the HTC Vivid will go for $200. You can get these smartphones at the price provided that you’re willing to sign a 2-year contract.

In case you confused, this is the first time AT&T gets real 4G devices. For marketing purposes, AT&T intentionally misled customers by selling its advanced 3G connection as 4G, because the speed closely matches the real 4G network.

However, you should buy these devices only if you live in an area with AT&T’s 4G access and are willing to shell an extra cash to purchase a data plan. AT&T’s 4G data plan will start at $15 (DataPlus), which will give you 200MB of data and you need to spend another $15 to get an additional 200MB of data. DataPro will cost subscribers $25 for 2GB of data and $10 for 1GB of additional data.

If you can’t fathom how fast this is, imagine a 3G broadband connection will allow you to download up to 600Kbps. Then, compare that with 4G which tops at 10-12 Mbps – it’s a cool 10x difference! With HTC EVO 4G, you can surf the net, download videos, mp3s, ringtones and perhaps play online games on your mobile phones in a snap!

The HTC EVO 4G has a lot to offer with an upgrade of 8MP dual LED flash camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera that is good for video conference and calls. HTC HD2 and Nexus One will be a thing of the past with EVO 4G’s 720p HD-quality video capture coupled with HDMI ready connector port. And to accommodate such large quantity of data, the smartphone will have 1GB ROM and 512RAM coupled with expandable microSD slot that can handle up to 32GB.

One problem we see however, is the limitation in geographic usage for this smartphone. Third world countries and other nations in the East haven’t installed 4G networks yet. Thus, people would probably think twice before buying the phone since they won’t be able to utilize its ultra fast connection. Well, we’re still hoping for the best. Miracles do happen nowadays right?

We prefer not to divulge all information in a snap or your brain would probably melt from information overload. But all in all, the HTC Evo 4G might be the next big step on smartphone technology. We are very eager to witness its official release on summer of this year. However, Sprint is stingy on giving information regarding its price.

The new AT&T Samsung Infuse 4G Android smartphone has been revealed at CES Vegas 2011 Show and we have details covering specs and hands-on love.

Samsung Mobile and AT&T at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 have announced the brand new 4G device running Google Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and the specifications looks promising to say the least, according to Techtree this new handset seems to be the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S and will be due for release in 2011 sometime and of course we will keep you posted on official release dates.

Ok, so what does the Samsung Infuse 4G feature then? Well for starters it boasts a huge 4.5-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, only 9mm thick or should we say 9mm thin, which makes this one of the thinnest smartphones in the Samsung series, 1.2GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor has been added, Android 2.3 Gingerbread update is expected to come after its release, 720p HD video recording and an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel VGA camera on the front for video calling.

Other features Include: HSPA+CAT14 network, up to 21Mbps data speeds on 4G networks, for more information on specs please visit Engadget as they have some nice details.

Below you can see a nice image of the new Samsung Infuse 4G smartphone but you can see real hands-on photos via the Engadget gallery, even though the guys had their hands on the device the handset was not allowed to be switched on.

Surprisingly, this 4.5-inch beauty, as large as it is, doesn't carry a weight proportional to its dimensions.  At just 4.9oz., it's one of the lighter smartphones on the market right now and it helps the feeling of "pocketability" with the device. In addition, its 1.2GHz processor is powered by a rather stout 1750mAh battery and Samsung's new Super AMOLED Plus display reportedly consumes less power on average versus their previous generation Super AMOLED screens. All, told the Infuse 4G is a potent package on paper. Let's get a closer look at its design and build quality
